11th edition of Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival concludes

Kathmandu, Dec 12: The 11th edition of Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival concluded here on Tuesday.
Organized by the Human Rights Film Centre, the four-day festival kicked off on December 9 at the Nepal Tourism Board and the Film Development Board.
At the closing ceremony held at the NTB, the documentary ‘No Winter Holidays’ directed by Rajan Kathet and Sunil Pandey bagged the best documentary award.
A total of 45 documentaries, shorts, animations and fiction films on the subjects of human rights from 26 countries selected through free competition from around the world were screen during the festival.
Discussions among filmmakers, audiences with experts and human rights activists on the subjects of films and human rights and photo exhibition were held as sideline events.
Centre’s Chairperson Bishnu Bahadur Khatri viewed that the festival was a success due to the encouraging support and impressive participation of the film enthusiasts, along with human rights activists and filmmakers.
The festival introduced short films and documentaries made on the subject of human rights to film enthusiasts and filmmakers alike. “We are confident that it has helped our filmmakers,” he observed.
